The Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) seeks to deliver distinguished students, high-caliber faculty and administrators, and advanced training infrastructure as part of its nation-building commitments and pursuit towards its Vision to become the Home of Maritime Knowledge Exchange in Asia.
The delivery of this commitments requires the assistance from potential partners who share its vision and mission. Our Mission is to make quality education accessible to our youth who demonstrated academic proficiency and leadership qualities but are financially-challenged.
Over the years, AIMS has provided financial support to deserving students and approximately 40% of its total student population currently enjoys financial assistance. Our commitment for the mission does not end here. In 2024, AIMS intends to provide 10% of its total population full scholarships.

This homeless errand boy became a Master Mariner in 2006 and still lives in the same principle that brought him to his position: strictness. He stresses that “When you are strict, you are disciplines.” The story of the errand boy is an inspiring lesson for aspiring students who should always believe that “All that happens in life has a purpose. A man shapes his destiny by perseverance, determination, and faith.” Captain Lucio share his gratitude to AIMS which mould his discipline and perseverance.
“Anyone can be a teacher but only few can teach,” this is how Captain Allan Dela Cruz describes his life journey from a student to a Master Mariner. He recalls his experiences and hardships as a hardworking student and credits AIMS for his success in life. Every time he is on vacation and ashore, he returns to AIMS as a teacher and imparts his life experiences to every aspiring seafarer. He wants to make sure that all AIMSian students are prepared to face the challenges of a life at sea. He believes that this is one good way to express his gratitude and give back to his Alma Mater.
A hundred pesos in his pocket coupled with unwavering determination and will. This is the starting point of C/E Bejemino when he entered the gates of AIMS as a student. Amidst all the difficulties and frustrations, he was able to surmount the odds as an academic achiever and as a student assistance. Now a successful Chief Engineer and a Master’s degree holder in Maritime Administration, C/E Bejemino stresses the importance of effort and discipline required in the globally-competitive seafaring industry.
“Your four years in college determine your future,” says this consistent academic scholar. The way to make it to the top is through your academic performance. This outstanding Customs Administration student leader created his path and all his efforts were rewarded as he made it to the top 4 of the Customs Broker Licensure Examination in 2005. Mr. Malvar now owns one of the largest trucking and forwarding companies in the country, the Malvar Cargo Express. He adds that “AIMS is more than a school to me. If I will have a son, I would want him to got to AIMS and become a seafarer.”
A scholarship endowment for students who demonstrated academic proficiency and leadership qualities but are financially-challenged.
An endowment for faculty and administrator development which covers the financial cost of enhancing the skills and broadening the knowledge of the faculty and administrators. This may include the cost of professorial chairs, research, study grants, travel grants, seminars and conferences.
Naming a physical facility in the campus after a person or institution is a concrete action of perpetuating its memory. Donors and benefactors can choose this option by giving naming rights donations.
However, the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) reserves the rights to approve proposals for naming rights, taking into consideration the school’s name and reputation. For this reason, naming rights are reserved for individuals and institutions known for their achievements, integrity, mastery, service, accomplishments, and contribution to Philippine society.
The Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) also welcomes financial donations which supports the realization of an advanced and comprehensive training infrastructure for its students. Furthermore, it also accepts tangible donations in its nation building initiative such as books, museum artifacts and collections, research documents, and others.
